If you are requesting permission to integrate Stanford University Press content into a course or e-learning environment, such as a Learning Management System, you can request permission via the Copyright Clearance Center at copyright.com.

If a title is not available via CCC, please use our online permissions request form, or email your request to permissions@www.sup.org.

Reprint Permission

In an effort to make our permissions process more efficient, Stanford University Press has partnered with the Copyright Clearance Center to handle most basic permissions requests. The fastest option is to request permission is via copyright.com.

For more complex requests or material that is unavailable via CCC, please use our online permissions request form, or email your request to permissions@www.sup.org. For emailed requests, please provide the below information:

Stanford Volume

  • Title
  • Author/editor
  • ISBN
  • Page range of requested material

New Volume

  • Your name
  • Publisher
  • Title
  • Author/editor
  • Est. publication date
  • Language(s) requested
  • Territory requested (world, North America, etc)
  • New volume page count (approximate)
  • Specific format(s) of publication – note that we do not grant for all formats or all media
  • Print run for each format
  • Est. selling price for each format

If we are indeed the rightsholder of the material, we will provide a quoted fee for the reuse.

Image/Figure Permissions

Please note that many images and figures in Stanford University Press publications are licensed from third parties. Stanford University Press can only grant permission for material for which it holds the rights. Please consult the image/figure credit line or citation to determine where the image originated. For material copyrighted by another party, you must obtain permission directly from the originating source.
